Nucleic Acid Structural Properties Identified by Genomic Signal Analysis

چکیده

The conversion of nucleotide sequences into digital genomic signals allows using signal processing methods for the analysis of genomic data. Nucleotide genomic signal (NGS) analysis reveals surprising regularities in the distribution of nucleotides and pairs of nucleotides, in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. These structural and statistical restrictions of genomic sequences would be difficult to identify by using only statistical and pattern matching methods, as in standard symbolic sequence analysis. NGS analysis is also efficient in the analysis of local structural features, in particular for the study of pathogen variability. This is important for the molecular level detection of mutations that induce drug resistance, providing the clinician with information needed for a fast and accurate decision, and avoiding the lengthily and expensive phenotypic clinical studies requesting pathogen culture. Key-Words: Nucleotide genomic signals, Sequence structure, Exon re-orientation

Molecular cloning and nucleotide sequence of the streptavidin gene.

Using synthetic oligonucleotides as probes we have cloned the streptavidin gene from a genomic library of Streptomyces avidinii. Nucleotide sequence analysis indicated that a 2 Kb DNA-fragment contained the entire coding region, a signal peptide region and the 3' and 5' flanking regions of the gene. The deduced amino acid sequence shows several interrupted blocks of homology with the amino acid...

Cellular Morphology and Immunologic Properties of Escherichia coli Treated With Antimicrobial Antisense Peptide Nucleic Acid

Background & Objectives: Antisense peptide nucleic acids (PNA) that target growth essential genes show potent bactericidal properties without cell lysis. We considered the possibility that whether PNA treatment influence the bacteria total nucleic acids content and apply approach to develop a new delivery system to Dendritic cells (DCs). DCs are the most potent antigen presenting cells in th...

In silico structural analysis of quorum sensing genes in Vibrio fischeri

Quorum sensing controls the luminescence of Vibrio fischeri through the transcriptional activator LuxR and the specific autoinducer signal produced by luxI. Amino acid sequences of these two genes were analyzed using bioinformatics tools. LuxI consists of 193 amino acids and appears to contain five α-helices and six ß-sheets when analyzed by SSpro8. LuxI belongs to the autoinducer synthetase fa...

Phylogenetic and sequence analysis of the growth hormone gene of two sturgeons, Huso huso and Acipenser Gueldenstaedtii

In this study, the cDNA Growth Hormone (cGH) of the Belugasturgeon (Husohuso) and Russian sturgeon (Acipensergueldenstaedtii) were cloned and sequenced, and phylogenetic relationships were examined using nucleic acid and amino acid sequences. The nucleotide sequence of the Beluga GH has an open reading frame of 645 nucleotides encoding a protein 214 amino acid residues. The signal peptide cleav...
